The anemometer spins and spins without a glitch. When I replaced the batteries (and it is a standard #1 Philips on the covers, contrary to what others have said) I put some silicone grease on the o-rings to help preserve them. The solar packs have never leaked a drop. I live in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada and we see high winds and occasional heavy rains here. It is hot and windy where I live and the anemometer and solar power packs work fine and have not given a problem in the hot California sun. I purchased the 3 extra temp/humidity sensors and haven't had a problem with them, either. I use Energizer Lithium batteries for the backups. The batteries in the solar units lasted more than 10 years and I easily found replacements. I have had it on two different homes and it worked fine in both locations. I bought my WMR-968 well over 15 years ago and have never had a problem with it. ![]()
